Seek medical treatment first!
Any insurer or employer will tell you that if an employee is injured to seek medical treatment right away. If there is no one trained in first aid, the injury is serious, or you are unsure; DIAL 911! (Refer to your company's Emergency Action Plan, contact a supervisor, or your staffing company liaison for specific instructions on what to do.)
All accidents must be reported WITHIN 24 HOURS!
Even if the employee did not go to the hospital or even receive first aid, the accident needs to be reported. If complications occur later on, there needs to be a record of what happened.
Not work related.
If the injury is suspected of not being work related, it still needs to be reported. In the notes section, state the reasons that you believe that the loss is not work related.
For general guidance, refer to Reporting Instructions and to After the Accident. (Refer to your company's Emergency Action Plan, contact a supervisor, or your staffing company liaison for specific instructions on what to do.)
